Die Story

Stephan Engler is a passionate horsemen. Personal negative experiences with bad riding arena ground gave him the idea to develop and build a drag for himself, which should meet this quality requirement.

All started in 2010, during his apprenticeship as an agricultural machinery mechanic with his father, also a master agricultural machinery mechanic and hydraulic specialist. Together they build the first EAO – Engler Arena Optimizer -.

In just one year, they built the first EAO in a small barn after work. It needed countless test rides until the riding arena condition met the target requirements. In 2010 at the Dusty Rose range horse show in Bonndorf (germany) was the premiere for the EAO. During the horse show, which lasted several days, the EAO provided optimum riding ground without any problems. The EAO had mastered its first long-term test and received lot of praise and attention. Since 2011 until today, the first EAO has been used successful every day at the Dusty-Rose range .

In the years 2012 to 2020, the EAO was always present at Stephan Engler.

Stephan Engler traveled to Canada and the USA for 18 months. In the USA he worked for Casey Deary as assistant trainer. There he had the opportunity to test many different riding arena gounds. He collected a lot of know-how from the professionals about the structure, material and condition of good riding arena gound. Back in Germany, he completed his mechanical engineering studies, which he graduated in 2020 with the Bachelor of Engineering .

After graduation, the design drawings and calculations were also ready for series production.

In 2021, the state of Baden-Württemberg includeed Stephan Engler into the start-up innovation program. The first series machine was put into operation at the end of 2021.
